Integrated Studies

Grades K–2 and 3–5 American Classics (Literature)

Are you ready to explore Narnia? During this first literature unit, students will have the opportunity to explore The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Lewis was one of the most beloved Christian authors of the twentieth century, known for weaving powerful ideas about faith, courage, sacrifice, and redemption into imaginative stories.

For their Unit Project, students will track their reading progress using a map of Narnia and expand their learning through a creative project. Early elementary students will recreate their favorite moment from the book, while upper elementary students will discover what C.S. Lewis called “the hidden story” of Narnia.

6–8 Business and Entrepreneurship

Let the Venture begin! We’re excited for our middle school students to start Business & Entrepreneurship. The project for this course is built into the course—one lesson at a time, one step at a time—students will organize, research, listen, build, iterate, and launch their very own business! The following workbook includes all the instructions and guides needed.

Platform Updates & Tips

Quiz Update! At AHS Worldwide, we believe in a growth mindset. Students are encouraged to keep learning and improve their quiz scores. After using all three quiz attempts, students can simply message their coach or Mrs. Norman through the platform to request a quiz reset.

This added step provides helpful accountability and gives us a chance to identify whether the quiz needs improvement or whether the student could use additional support before trying again.

And remember, quizzes are “open book”! Students can look back through the lesson as they work to help answer the questions.

STAR Assessments

Reading and Math

The STAR is an adaptive benchmark assessment that measures your child’s current level in Math and Reading and helps track their growth throughout the school year. This valuable tool is available exclusively to our full-time families.

This assessment can be used for your UFA School Choice Portfolio and is required for TEFA & WY ESA Private School students.

Students may begin taking the assessment on Monday, October 12, and it will remain open through Thursday, October 29. Your child’s Academic Advisor has emailed you all the information and instructions you need.

If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out to your Academic Advisor or Melanie Norman. (mnorman@ahsworldwide.org)
