Integrated Studies

Back to Earth Science! Next up is Unit 2—Rocks and Minerals: The Story in the Stone!

That rock beneath your feet? It has a story—and you’re about to learn how to read it! Discover sparkling minerals, rocks born from molten magma, and others transformed by intense heat and pressure. Follow the rock cycle, uncover how wind and water reshape the land, and investigate fossils and rock layers for clues to Earth’s ancient past. Along the way, you’ll practice thinking like a geologist: looking closely, asking questions, and using evidence to explain what you find. Get ready to see ordinary stones in an extraordinary new way—because Earth’s next big discovery could be right under your shoes!

Curriculum & Platform Announcements

Team Teach Curriculum

We are listening! This is our first year piloting our new Team Teach curriculum, and we are grateful for your feedback!

As we continue refining the curriculum, we’ve identified a small adjustment to the lesson format that will help us better assess student understanding with the quizzes. This change will make learning objectives clearer and easier for students to identify and be assessed.

K–2 Families: Thank you for your patience and feedback regarding quizzes! We’ve decided to remove quizzes as the primary form of assessment for K–2 students. K-2 students will focus on interactive reviews in class and project work outside of class to assess learning.

Thank you for helping us continue to improve the learning experience at AHS Worldwide!

Tea with Tumnus event invitation banner.

You’re Invited Through the Wardrobe!

Step out of the snow and into the warm little cave of Mr. Tumnus, the friendly faun of Narnia! He has put the kettle on, set out the treats, and has a small problem: his favorite book has gone missing. Students will follow rhyming clues on a treasure hunt to help him find it, then settle in for a proper cup of tea (or cocoa, cider, or lemonade), Narnia-inspired snacks, lantern-lit games, and conversation with friends.

Come as you are, or wear your coziest scarf, sweater, or Narnia costume. Always winter, never boring!
