Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) are state-administered education funds that eligible families may use for approved educational expenses, including private school tuition and fees and other qualifying expenses. The program is overseen by the Texas Comptroller, with Odyssey assisting with administration.

We are currently applying to participate in TEFA for the 2026–27 cycle and are inviting interested families to learn about TEFA and our program now. We’ll share updates as our status changes.
No. Families can apply during the application window while continuing to explore school options. TEFA states the program is not first-come, first-served.
For the 2026–27 school year, TEFA states the private school amount at $10,474 per child for approved private school students, and $2,000 per child for homeschool students.
TEFA lists the family application deadline as March 17 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time for the 2026–27 application window.
TEFA’s FAQ states funds can be used for online or out-of-state programs if the provider applies for approval and is accepted into the program.
